Areas of Speciality include adults and teens experiencing anxiety, panic disorder, phobias, agoraphobia, OCD, selective mutism, depression, and anger management challenges, as well as support for athletes, first responders, and adult children of alcoholics.

 

Matt Fernandez (he/him) is passionate about creating a safe, judgment-free, nurturing, compassionate environment for his clients to find growth, healing, and freedom from and of their life challenges. He intentionally and mindfully endeavors to ensure that his clients feel supported, accepted, and appropriately challenged in their co-created therapeutic journey.

Matt’s areas of specialty include working with adults and teens experiencing anxiety, panic disorder, phobias, agoraphobia, OCD, selective mutism, and depression, as well as athletes, first responders, adult children of alcoholics, and anger management concerns. Additionally, Matt is a fierce ally for those in the LGBTQIA+ community.

First responders: In addition to having first responders in his family (police and firefighters), Matt is specifically trained to offer psychotherapy to first responders and reserves session spots for them. Matt has witnessed their struggles to manage a fulfilling life while living with immense stress, loss/grief, and frustration while working in a highly pressured environment.

Athletes: Matt is also an athlete who practices Brazilian jiu-jitsu and has played several other sports growing up. He knows from experience the anxiety that can arise when performing at a high level. Because of his lived experience here, he loves helping other athletes navigate the specific stressors that come with athletics, to allow his clients to reach their highest potential.

Matt practices self-care by being intentional with his time, prioritizing activities that recharge his well-being. He decompresses by kayaking, exploring nature with his dogs, practicing Brazilian jiu-jitsu, and running obstacle courses.
